Short answer
Can I download Bank of America transactions as CSV? Yes for recent transactions, PDF only for older ones.
Bank of America lets you download recent transactions from the account page in several formats, including a spreadsheet-friendly CSV. The history it covers is limited, and older statements are PDFs, so those are the ones to convert.

The layout
What a Bank of America statement looks like
US statements print dates as month and day, often with no year, and many list money in and money out in separate sections. The sketch is ours, drawn from public information, and your own statement may differ.
Beginning balance
Deposits and other credits
Withdrawals and other debits
Ending balance
Deposits and other credits
Withdrawals and other debits
Daily ledger balances
- Credits and debits in sections
- Money in and money out are listed in separate blocks, each with Date, Description and Amount. The converter puts them back in date order.
- No balance on each row
- Balances are usually shown in a daily balance table at the end, not beside every row. The check compares totals, so if it says Off by an amount it points at a page rather than one row.
- Checks listed apart
- Checks that cleared often sit in their own block, several across the page. Check numbers and dates are read from there.
- Continued pages
- Long statements repeat headers and “continued” lines across pages. These aren’t transactions and are skipped.
