Short answer

Can I download CommBank transactions as CSV? Yes from NetBank on a computer, for a limited period.

NetBank on a desktop browser can export transactions as a CSV file, for a limited date range. Older periods are the PDF statements. Convert those to get a file that is checked against the statement’s balances.

Two amount columns, turned into one signed amount.
Value date lines
Card purchases can include a “Value Date” line inside the description. It stays in the description and isn’t treated as a new row.

FAQ

CommBank statements, answered

What does CR mean next to my balance?
Credit: the account is in funds. DR means overdrawn. The converter reads both and uses them when it checks that the statement balances.
How do I get CommBank transactions into Xero?
Convert the PDF and download the Xero CSV, or an OFX file, then import it into the Xero bank account. Choose DD/MM/YYYY for the dates.
Is this affiliated with Commonwealth Bank of Australia?
No. Tableaf is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Commonwealth Bank of Australia. The name is used only to say which statements this page is about. CommBank and its marks belong to their owners.
Is my CommBank statement uploaded anywhere?
No. A text PDF is read by code running in your browser and the file you download is built there too. Nothing reaches our servers, and it keeps working offline after your first visit. How we handle your data.
How do I know every CommBank transaction was read?
Every statement is checked against its printed opening and closing balances. If they don’t add up, the review screen shows “Off by” with the amount and points at the page or the row where the running balance breaks. Any text PDF should work, and that check is how you know it did.
Does it read a scanned or paper CommBank statement?
Not yet. A scan has no text to read, so it needs OCR on a server, which is planned for paid plans. Statements you download from online banking are text PDFs and work today.
