Short answer
Can I download Barclays transactions as CSV? Yes for recent transactions, PDF for the statements.
Barclays online banking can export recent transactions as a spreadsheet or CSV file. Statements themselves are PDFs. When you need a month that the export doesn’t reach, or want the statement’s own balances checked, convert the PDF.

The layout
What a Barclays statement looks like
UK statements are day-first, with money in and money out in two columns and a balance that is often printed once a day. The sketch is ours, drawn from public information, and your own statement may differ.

Money out
End balance
Your transactions
- Money out and money in
- Two amount columns, so no minus signs. The converter turns them into one signed amount.
- Balance once a day
- The balance column is usually filled on the last transaction of a day and blank on the others. The check can still use it.
- Day-first dates
- Dates are day, month and year (or day and month with the year in the header), as is usual in the UK.
- Brought forward lines
- Rows such as “Start balance” or “Balance brought forward” are balances, not transactions, and are used for the check instead.
